'Moontower', released through Black Mark Production, is the 1998 solo outing from the ever industrious EDGE OF SANITY leading force DAN SWANÖ. Hailing from Örebro, Swanö's influence on the Swedish music scene, besides his production work, includes involvement in other acts as diverse as UNICORN, PAN.THY.MONIUM, GODSEND, WOUNDED KNEE and NIGHTINGALE among many others. He first came to attention as part of the late eighties, notorious Crossover act BREJN DEDD. In 1999 he executed his interpretation of MERCYFUL FATE's 'Melissa', featured on 'The Unholy Sounds Of The Demon Bells - A Tribute To Mercyful Fate' collection issued via Poland's Still Dead Productions.

In 2003 a new side project was on the agenda dubbed RIBSPREADER. This unite comprised Swanö, PAGANIZER frontman Rogga Johansson and erstwhile PAGANIZER man Andreas on guitar. The album 'Bolted To The Cross' emerged in April 2004.

Swanö activated "Post-Prog" project SECOND SKY in 2004 for the album 'Skydiving'. He would also provide guest vocals for the 2005 ENFORSAKEN album 'Sinner's Intuition'. Throughout the year his home studio work gained Swanö mixing credentials on albums for EDEN'S FALL, THE PROJECT HATE, ANOTHER LIFE, RIBSPREADER, PAGANIZER, HEARSE, MISERY SPEAKS, SHADOWSPHERE and MILLENCOLIN.

Dan Swanö contributed guest lead vocal tracks to a cover version of MOXY's 'Out Of The Darkness' for inclusion on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection. Swanö also laid down backing vocals for English Progressive Metal band THRESHOLD's album 'Dead Reckoning'. Swanö's next move was to join DEMIURG, fronted by PAGANIZER and RIBSPREADER mainman Rogga Johansson for the album 'Breath Of The Demiurg', released in February 2007 through Dutch imprint Mascot Records. That summer Swanö produced debut sessions for HAIL OF BULLETS.
