A well received Melodic Rock band, NORDERN LIGHT were formed by erstwhile MENTZER and SILVER MOUNTAIN vocalist Christer Mentzer. The group recorded the 'Shadows Of The Wildnerness' album in 1987, although the record only emerged on CD in the 90s having become quite collectable on vinyl.

NORDEN LIGHT drummer Michael Van Knorring later joined YNGWIE MALMSTEEN. The drummer would later unite with Italian frontman Chris Heaven for a 2002 band called EDGE OF TIME.
