Christian Hard Rock act MODEST ATTRACTION had its roots in the band BORDERLINE, created in 1989 by brothers vocalist Christan and guitarist Simeon Liljegren, together with guitar player Stefan Selvander. With the demise of BORDERLINE in 1991 these three musicians united with ex-BENGALEN and LEVITICUS drummer Mick Nordström to forge MODEST ATTRACTION. In February 1992 Stefan Mohlin joined the band on guitar, replacing Selvander. Signed by Viva Records, in March 1994 they combined tracks cut at Starec Grammophone in Växjö and PLC-Studio in Hultsfred to release their first album 'The Truth In Your Face'. This would be followed up by the seasonal 'Modest Christmas' EP.

A second MODEST ATTRACTION album, 'Divine Luxuary', was completed in March 2006. MODEST ATTRACTION then drafted latter day NARNIA, FLAGSHIP and PLANET ALLIANCE guitarist Carl Johan Grimmark, at that stage having just parted ways with SENTINEL. This new look version of the band undertook German touring in May 1996. The band gave a donation of 'Burn On The Flame' to the SWEET tribute album 'The Sweet According To Sweden' in 2004.

During December 2006 Carl Johan Grimmark joined the ranks of joint German / Norwegian band BEAUTIFUL SIN.
