Biography

An impressive Malmö, Lund Hard Rock band BAD HABIT, founded during 1986 by keyboard player 'Doc' Pat Shannon and guitarist Hal Johnston (a.k.a. Hal Marabel), were originally signed to the Swedish end of CBS Records, with whom they released a couple of singles and the six track mini-album 'Young And Innocent' in 1988, before signing to Virgin Records. Amazing most observers by having the balls to cover BOSTON's seminal 'More Than A Feeling' on their 1989 eponymous debut album; although the results made some feel that BAD HABIT had rather overstretched themselves.

Feeling that they were making no headway with the onslaught of Thrash and Grunge in the early 1990s, the group was effectively put on ice whilst the likes of guitarist Hal Johnston involved themselves in other projects. Johnston, in fact, produced PROJECT LEE and joined BAI BANG for a period.

Fehling and Salazar founded a fresh act titled BONEHEAD and various members of BAD HABITS toured as covers band JETSET BABY.

Original keyboard player Pat Shannon quit before the comeback album 'Revolution', released by Megarock, was recorded and his position was filled by guitarist Sven Cirnski, who has also recorded with SNAKE CHARMER and RAISE CAIN. Indeed, Cirnski and drummer Jaime Salazar later contributed to BLAKK TOTEM. Salazar secured a position with leading Progressive Rock band THE FLOWER KINGS and joined Power Metal band TIMELESS MIRACLE for their August 2004 album recordings 'Into The Enchanted Chamber'.

BAD HABIT returned in December 2005, touting a new album entitled 'Hear Say' through Frontiers Records. Hal Marabel bounced back into the charts with AOR act ARENA. Sven Cirnski contributed session guitar on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.

The Munich based Yesterrock label issued the DVD 'Ultimate Collection 1987 - 2009' in July 2009. BAD HABIT made an appearance at the 24th October 'Firefest' event in Nottingham.
