Biography

AZURE started out as a solo Black Metal venture of one Amorth Bredlave (a.k.a. Robban Kanto), a man citing credits with acts such as EPHEMERAL, RELENTLESS, THE TRUTH BEYOND and Doom act TEARS OF GRIEF. AZURE, based in Lindesberg, issued two eponymous demo cassettes during 1996 upfront of their 'Dark And Mysterious Ways' EP. Musicians utilised for this release found bassist / second guitarist Enormous and drummer Velvet accompanying Bredlave on lead vocals and guitar.

A further demo 'Eroican', with Fredrik Pernros taking the place of Enormous, was delivered before signing to the Solistitium label for 1998's 'A Vicious Age Lasting...' EP and the full length 'Moonlight Legend'. These sessions, recorded in Umeå, benefited from ex-NAGLFAR and current EMBRACING man Mattias Holmgren acting as guest drummer. The promotion EP 'Shadows In Midark' found Velvet manning session drums. Bredlave, under his real name, would tour Europe as session lead vocalist for CENTINEX that same year.

AZURE was re-assembled during 2004, entering Morningdew Media Studios in Umeå in September to record a new album entitled 'King Of Stars - Bearer Of Dark' for Holland's Karmageddon Media label. However, in October 2005 it was revealed Pulverised Records had taken the album on for Europe, Asia and Australia whilst Deathgasm Records signed the band for the USA. Guest guitar work came courtesy of Nils Norberg of NOCTURNAL RITES and Ronnie Björnstöm from EMBRACING. The same label would also re-package 'Moonlight Legend' and 'A Vicious Age Lasting' as a single re-issue CD.
