Biography

Heavy Metal act KRUX was formed in 2002 by Lief Edling of CANDLEMASS. Initially the band was set to feature guitarist Michael Amott of ARCH ENEMY and vocalist Tomas Person. However, when debuted KRUX was in fact fronted up by the CAPRICORN, SWEDISH EROTICA, TREAT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, EYEBALL and ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA credited vocalist Mats Levén with Jörgen Sandström on guitar. Drummer Peter Stjärnvind boasts a pedigree with ENTOMBED, MURDER SQUAD, MERCILESS, FACE DOWN, REGURGITATE and LOUD PIPES. KRUX would also feature guitarist Fredrik Åkesson, a scene veteran holding a tradition with ONE CENT, TAURUS, the JOHN NORUM band and TALISMAN.

A self-titled album arrived on the Dutch Mascot label in February 2003. Early 2005 found Fredrik Åkesson joining the touring line-up TIAMAT, replacing regular guitarist Thomas Petersson who had been detained by "parental duties". That September, Åkesson enrolled himself into the ranks of ARCH ENEMY.

KRUX recorded their second album, simply titled 'Krux II', at Studioland studio in Upplands Väsby for October 2006 issue through GMR Music. Mats Levén joined CANDLEMASS onstage for their 20th anniversary concert at Stockholm's Kolingsborg on March 31st 2007, performing the song 'Black Dwarf'.
