Karlskrona Heavy Metal band UNCHAINED was forged by members of PSYCHE FORCE in 1998, issuing the 'Demo-n' demo the same year. The two bands operating in parallel until UNCHAINED's demise in 1999. The band was resurrected shortly after as PSYCHE FORCE switched title to UNCHAINED. A demo, 'The Antedeluvian World' produced by Daniel "Lillen" Johnsson at Salt Island Studios, was issued in 2000. However, singer Sebastian Viitanen then vacated for BUSZER. Pulling in new man Peter Eriksson and singer Per Karlsson, located in a BLACK SABBATH cover band, UNCHAINED followed up with 'Like The Candle' released in 2002.

UNCHAINED signed to the Portuguese Sound Riot label to craft an album in 2003. Recorded at Pama Studios in Sweden and mastered at Digital Fabriken the 'Unchained' album was set to surface in October of 2004, but would be pushed back to early 2005. Guesting on bass would be LOCOMOTIVE BREATH's Mattias Osbäck. However, with Osbäck's departure in December 2005 the band announced it was to go into hiatus. UNCHAINED guitarist David Blome joined LOCOMOTIVE BREATH in late 2005.
