Karlshamn Progressive Rock combo. Vocalist and ZELLO project mentor Pelle 'P.O.' Saether is ex-MACBETH, GLORY, UNCHAINED and SCHIZOPHRENIC CIRCUS. Drummer Jamie Batal was previously with DYNAMITE WASTELAND and SCHIZOPHRENIC CIRCUS. In 1979 Saether united with former SLAPDASH members guitarist Magnus Söderman and bassist Lasse Lindh to create ZEELION for which the singer adopted the nom de plume Lenny De Rose. Other musicians included violinist Mats Glenberg Eriksson, keyboard players Anders Altzarfeldt of UNCHAINED and Mats Olsson with drummer Jamil Batal.

A second ZELLO album 'Quodlibet' was released in 1999 on the French Musea label, seeing Svetlan Raket on drums. In 2004 Saether opted to completely re-record the debut record, engaging the OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH credited Janne Stark as guitarist for the project. Existing organ parts would be replaced by guitar and new tracks recorded. Saether contributed guest lead vocal tracks to a cover version of CAPTAIN BEYOND's 'Fantasy' for inclusion on Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.
