JAGGERNAUT, although a new band, boasted the pedigree of FULL STRIKE personnel lead vocalist Niclas Johnsson and drummer Patrik Räfling, the latter also having prior credits with HAMMERFALL. Johnsson had previously been associated with METROPOLIS and FATAL SMILE. Both guitarist, Emil Ilic and Alex Räfling, were formerly with MEGASLAUGHTER whilst bassist Tommy Larsen has CHASTISEMENT credentials.

The group had been conceived by the Räfling siblings and original members Greek born singer Jimmy T. and bassist Christoffer Olofsson in August of 2001, recording two tracks 'Jaggernaut' and 'Iron Sword' for internet download. The band filmed their March 2004 'Axe Feast' festival at KÃ¥ren in Gothenburg for a DVD release. The group underwent line-up changes in September, losing Alex Räfling. They would also temporarily lose the services of Patrick Räfling, swifly pulling in substitute drummer Rickard Johansson of FATAL SMILE.

Bassist Tommy Larsson joined DREAM EVIL in August 2005. However, in February of 2006 the bassist joined HEED, the group assembled by erstwhile LOST HORIZON members singer Daniel Heiman and guitarist Fredrik Olsson. Rickard Johansson joined TWILIGHT ILLUSION.
