HUMANIMAL are essentially an extension of the highly regarded melodic Rock act TALISMAN, the band not only comprising of three TALISMAN personnel but also named after a TALISMAN album. The aforementioned HUMANIMAL trio numbering frontman JEFF SCOTT SOTO, also a seasoned campaigner with PANTHER, TAKARA, AXEL RUDI PELL and EYES, guitarist PONTUS NORGREN, citing additional credits with GREAT KING RAT, DAMAGE DONE JEKYLL & HYDE and TALISMAN mainstay bassist Marcel Jacob, a former associate of POWER and JOHN NORUM. In addition to the listed tenures both Soto and Jacob lay claim to being YNGWIE MALMSTEEN band veterans an having had issued two albums under the banner of HUMAN CLAY. Drums were handled by Tomas Broman of GREAT KING RAT, AMAZE ME and the ELECTRIC BOYS. Broman would hook up with the HUGHES TURNER PROJECT for European shows in 2002.

During March of 2003 an ambitious Tolkein based musical project dubbed THE RING was announced by guitarist Pontus Norgren and ex-JEKYLL & HYDE frontman Jakob Samuel.

Marcel Jacob joined the ranks of LAST AUTUMN'S DREAM in 2004, featuring on the 'II' album.

Sad news arrived from Jeff Scott Soto in July 2009 when the singer issued a news release stating "It is with deep regret and remorse I, along with fellow members of TALISMAN, am announcing our brother, longtime colleague and overall greatest musician we've ever played with, Marcel Jacob, is no longer with us as of today, Tuesday July 21, 2009. Marcel took his own life after many years of personal and health issues he was battling."
