Hovås, Gothenburg based Death Metal band INFESTATION only saw operations between February and September in 1990. Despite the brief life span, the band featured a clutch of well known performers on the extreme Metal scene with vocalist / bassist Tomas Lindberg, guitarist Anders Björler, second guitarist Björn Mankner and Jonas Björler on drums. Lindberg's credits include AT THE GATES, BEN-HUR, CONQUEST, THE CROWN, DISFEAR, THE GREAT DECEIVER, GROTESQUE, HIDE, LIERS IN WAIT, LOCKUP, NIGHTRAGE, SKITSYSTEM and WORLD WITHOUT END. The Björler twins found prominence with AT THE GATES, THE HAUNTED and TERROR.

A two song INFESTATION rehearsal demo, 'When Sanity Ends', was recorded at Fågeln studio and issued in August. Just weeks later, Lindberg and the two brothers then hooked up with Alf Svensson plus drummer Adrian Erlandsson, and duly created AT THE GATES.

At one stage INFESTATION also included Anders Malmström of IMMEMORIAL and PROPHANITY repute. Anders Malmström joined NOMINON as new bassist in October 2006.
