Biography

Retro Thrash Metal project TERROR 2000 was convened in Helsingborg by guitarist Nick Sword (a.k.a. Niklas Svärd of NECROPIA and EL MAGO), DARKANE member guitarist Klas Ideberg, also an ex-member of Helsingborg Thrashers HYSTE´RIAH G.B.C., along with SOILWORK personnel frontman Björn Strid and drummer Henry Ranta. The opening 2000 opus 'Slaughterhouse Supremacy' garnered laudatory reviews setting the band up as more substantial than just another side project. In Japan Toys Factory issued the album with an obligatory extra track, TERROR 2000's take on 'The Persuaders' TV series theme music.

Drummer Erik Thyselius, brought onboard for the band's second album, is also a full time member of CONSTRUCDEAD. Japanese variants of the April 2002 album 'Faster Disaster' included the traditional bonus track with a live version of 'Mental Machinery'. May 2003 Japanese dates allied with DESTRUCTION, dubbed the "Thrash Disaster" tour, would spawn the December live album 'Slaughter In Japan-Live 2003'.

Bjorn Strid would lend guest vocals to Italian melodic Death Metal band DISARMONIA MUNDI's 2004 album 'Fragments Of D-Generation'. TERROR 2000 reconvened in a Helsingborg studio during May of 2005 to craft a third album, 'Terror For Sale'. Early 2006 found Björn Strid involving himself in a studio collaboration with bassist Steve DiGiorgio, of SADUS, SEBASTIAN BACH, TESTAMENT and DEATH, Glen Alvelais from FORBIDDEN, TESTAMENT and LD/50 and Jeremy Colson of the STEVE VAI band, MARTY FRIEDMAN, MICHAEL SCHENKER, APARTMENT 26, DALI'S DILEMMA and LD/50 repute.
