A Helsingborg based Darkwave Electronic act that deliver droning, morose yet danceable music. COVENANT are much favoured upon the Gothic scene. The band came into being during the mid eighties, persevering through a turbulent history of line-up changes before settling on the trio of vocalist Eskil Simonsson, sampler Joakim Montelius and keyboard player Clas Nachmanson in 1991. This triumvirate issued a demo, 'Dreams From The Cryotank', the same year securing a record deal. The Swedish Memento Material label asked the band to provide a track for their compilation album 'Autumn Leaves' and the resulting media appreciation afforded COVENANT's inclusion of 'Replicant' led to a full blown album deal. The debut record, also called 'Dreams From The Cryotank', emerged in 1994.

The 'Figurehead' EP solidified their rise and album number two, 'Sequencer' released in 1996, prompted a European tour packaged with HAUJOBB and STERIL. Following these dates COVENANT issued the 'Stalker' single which secured a lengthy grip on the club scene. 1997 witnessed headline shows in America and Europe as well as special guest slots to RAMMSTEIN in their homeland of Sweden. The 'Final Man' EP preceded a third album 'Europa' and another round of global touring across Scandinavia, Western Europe, USA and Canada. Confusion amongst distributors would then ensue as a Norwegian band, a high profile act comprising of figures from leading Black Metal bands, issued an album 'Nexus Polaris' also billed as COVENANT. This act eventually adopted a new title of THE KOVENANT.

COVENANT would spend the early part of 1999 engaged in touring Germany as opening act for PROJECT PITCHFORK prior to entering the studio for sessions resulting in the 'United States Of Mind' album. The recording schedule would be interuppted to perform at a series of summer festivals including 'Roskilde' in Denmark and both the German 'Zillo' and 'Wave Gotik Treffen' events.
