HEL, fronted by the Pettersson sisters Maklin and Ulrica and performing Viking Metal, previously operated as VȪLUND SMED but would adopt the new title in 1999 for the album 'Valkyriors Dom' on Ultima Thule Records. Violinist Cia Hedmark, of OTYG, CASKET CASEY and VINTERSORG repute, was a later addition to the band. Subsequent albums included 'BlodspÃ¥r' in 2001 and 'Bortglömda Tid' the following year.

The band issued a split album with ULTIMA THULE in 2002 fittingly titled 'The Viking Spirit Lives On!'.
