Gävle Grindcore act GADGET, featuring William Blackmon of WITHERED BEAUTY and Rikard Olsson of DISKONTO, NAGANA, PANZERSCHRECK and SHITSTORM, featured their track 'Boredom Suits Me Fine' on the Relapse Records compilation 'Contaminated 5.0'. Initially GADGET had been initiated as a solo concern of Blackmon during 1997, this formative version recording a solitary demo before going into hiatus. The project was resurrected in 1999. A split 7" single shared with EXHUMED surfaced on Relapse Records in 2001. In 2003 GADGET hired Gothenburg studio Phlat Planet and Fredrik Reinedahl for the production of the debut album 'Remote'.

The band united with fellow Swedes RELEVANT FEW for a run of September 2004 German "Born to Booze, Live to Grind" tour dates. Promoting 'The Funeral March', in Spring 2007 GADGET, following a run of headline shows in March, hooked up up with THE ACACIA STRAIN, ALL THAT REMAINS and MISERY SIGNALS for European dates.
