Gothenburg Progressive styled Rock outfit WHIPPED CREAM, fronted by Elizabeth Punzi, elevated themselves from 70s styled pschedelia into a Hard Rock band. Debuting in May 1991 with the album 'Whipped Cream & Other Delights', recorded at Music-A-Matic Studios in Gothenburg and featuring a take on THE BEATLES 'Come Together', for Radium Records the group notably scored a session on the UK BBC Radio One John Peel show that November. A succession of singles followed, including a rendition of CAPTAIN BEEFHEART's 'Observatory Crest', but line-up changes hit the band in 1992 as drummer Lars-Erik Grimelund was superseded by Fredrik Sandsten.

WHIPPED CREAM contributed their version of PINK FLOYD's 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' to a 1994 King Kong compilation album. The band fractured again after the 1994 'Horse Mountain' album when both Sandsten and bass player Jonas Sonesson exited.

Reformulating, WHIPPED CREAM assembled an all-star cast for a proposed 1996 album 'Possessed'. Joining Elizabeth Punzi would be KING DIAMOND guitarist Snowy Shaw, MERCYFUL FATE bass player Sharlee D'Angelo plus keyboard player Charlie Storm. It seems these sessions never saw the light of day. Elizabeth Punzi later worked with THE MOLE SESSION.
