Gothenburg Death / Thrashers GRINDNECKS were formulated during 2003. Fronted by singer Joakim Proos the band includes a collection of notable scene veterans including ex-DEMONS OF DIRT and SLAUGHTERCULT guitarist Mikael Eriksson, SLAUGHTERCULT guitarist Jonas Larsson, ex-DEMONS OF DIRT, CLONAEON and SLAUGHTERCULT bassist Mattias Nilsson with Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen of RUNEMAGICK, LORD BELIAL, ENGEL, NOTRE DAME and RELEVANT FEW on drums. The band's original line-up had included guitar player Johan Lundin and drummer Jonas Wickstrand, the latter soon replaced by SUNDANCE, GARDENIAN and WITHIN Y credited Thim Blom on drums. Moilanen assumed drum duties in early 2005 as Blom prioritised WITHIN Y.

GRINDNECKS first offering would be the December 2004 demo 'Terror Rising'. The second session, '460 From Hell' recorded in August 2005, saw the guest inclusion of guitarist Johan Lundin plus vocalists Andreas Solveström of WITHIN Y and EVILDOER, Robert Johansson and SLAUGHTERCULT's Ronny Attergran.

GRINDNECKS announced they were suspending activities in November 2005, claiming that their "music became too extreme for others to handle".
