Biography
GLANZIG is a DANZIG and MISFITS cover-band hailing from Gothenburg who every now and then play live around Sweden. Besides the MISFITS songs they play, the DANZIG material they cover is usually from the classic line-up of Glenn Danzig, John Christ, Eerie Von and Chuck Biscuits, thus he members go by the humourous monikers of vocalist Tony Glanzig (a.k.a. Tony Jelencovich), guitarist Peter Krist (Peter Hynyadi), bassist Micael VÃ¥n (Micael Magnusson) and drummer Morgan Cake (Morgan Pettersson). In 1998 most of the members were in the band TRANSPORT LEAGUE except Magnusson who was found in SUPERGROUPIES.
When Mascot Records wanted another album from TRANSPORT LEAGUE they suggested releasing a DANZIG tribute instead, under the name of their cover-band. The label agreed and in 1999 GLANZIG released 'I – Danzifuge', refering to DANZIG's second album 'II – Lucifuge' from 1990. Not only the original back cover of 'Lucifuge' was reproduced, but the inner sleave, photos and even the print on the CD itself as well. Prior to this release frontman Jelencovich was in the Metal band B-THONG but later went on to form TRANSPORT LEAGUE and GLANZIG. Later he would join MNEMIC and ANGEL BLAKE. In August 2005 TRANSPORT LEAGUE disbanded but within months returned under the name of M.A.N.
