Biography

Gävle Doom Death act ISOLE's history is entrenched in that of formative outfit FORLORN, forged during 1991 by vocalist / drummer Daniel Bryntse (a.k.a. 'Vortex') and guitarist Crister Olsson. Bryntse has a vast array of credits on the Scandinavian Metal scene including terms of duty with COMPLICITY, AUTUMN LEAVES, DAMNAGE, HELLPIKE, MILKTOAST, MOOD, MORANNON, NIGHCHANT, SAVORY, THEORY IN PRACTICE, STENCH and WITHERED BEAUTY. Bryntse also deputied as live bassist and drummer for SORCERY and, alongside his FORLORN colleague guitarist Per Sandgren, operates WINDWALKER.

The original line up would also include WITHERED BEAUTY and FEBRUARI 93 credited vocalist / guitarist Magnus Björk, guitarist Magnus Helin, bass player Jan Larsson and drummer Kim Molin. The latter exited before the close of the year with Helin following him in 1992.

FORLORN inducted bass player Henrik Lindenmo (a.k.a. 'Goatlord' of MORANNON and fellow Doomsters OUTREMER) to replace Larsen in 1995. However, with Björk quitting in 1996 and Sandgren relocating to Stockholm the group came to a halt. Members then prioritised their other endeavours, Bryntse and Björk with WITHERED BEAUTY, Bryntse and Sandgren with WINDWALKER, Olsson and Lindenmo with HELLPIKE and Bryntse, Olsson and Björk as part of FEBRUARI 93.

FORLORN returned for a 2001 demo 'Autumn Leaves' but then underwent line-up changes as P.O. enrolled replacing Henrik Lindenmo. In a period of confusion a 7" single was projected for issue through I Hate Records but P.O. then exited, Lindenmo returned and Per Sandgren took his leave, these changes culminating in a name change to ISOLE. The album 'Forevermore' was recorded in 2004.

ISOLE worked with session man Jonas Lindström of WITHERED BEAUTY on drums in early 2005, this union being made permanent by April. Gigs in Germany and France allied with WORLD BELOW would be announced for November, but then cancelled.

I Hate Records issued the album 'Throne Of Void' in July 2006. ISOLE then switched labels to the Austrian imprint Napalm Records for January 2008's 'Bliss Of Solitude'.
