Announced during mid 2006, Progressive Doom outfit FIREGOD transpired to be a Swedish / Danish collaboration of high profile Metal veterans. The group comprised guitarists Simon Johannsson, of MEMORY GARDEN, ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA, DEAD END WORLD and FIFTH REASON, and Mike Wead (a.k.a. Mikael Vikström), of WITCH, HEXENHAUS, MEMENTO MORI, ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA, KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE, bass player Hal Patino, of KING DIAMOND, and drummer Snowy Shaw (Tommy Helgesson), ex-KING DIAMOND and DREAM EVIL. In September the band contracted with Vic Records.

Snow Shaw sessioned for and produced tracks for Glam Rockers LOUD 'N' NASTY in September. In a surprise move, Snowy Shaw was named the new lead singer in leading Operatic Metal band THERION in October 2006. He would also lend his skills to Swedish Doomsters ADONIZE VITA, performing session vocals on their debut album. On the live front Shaw was to ally himself with Kriss Göbel, of FALCONER and DESTINY, plus Michael Åberg, from NOSTRADAMEUS, in covers band METAL FÜR ALLE, performing gigs locally in the Gothenburg area.

In February 2007 it was announced that Mike Wead had joined forces with a brand new, melodic Death Metal inclined project called KRYPTILLUSION. Kristofer Nilsson of UNDIVINE handled lead vocals whilst Stefan Westerberg, of IN THY DREAMS, STEEL ATTACK, WORLD BELOW, ASPERITY and CARNAL FORGE, featured on drums and Fredrik Groth from THE STORYTELLER assumed bass duties.
