Biography

The extreme Metal venture PAN.THY.MONIUM is one of many project ventures pursued by EDGE OF SANITY vocalist Dan Swanö. With PAN.THY.MONIUM Swanö went by the pseudonym 'Day DiSyraah' and played guitar under the disguize of 'Aag'. EDGE OF SANITY drummer Benny Larsson also contributed, going under the pseudonym of 'Winter' (Larsson drums for OPTHALMIA under the same guise), whilst vocalist 'Derelict' is in reality DARKIFIED, FACEBREAKER, SOLAR DAWN and INCAPACITY frontman Robert Karlsson.

PAN.THY.MONIUM debuted in July 1990 with the demo '...Dawn'. This four track cassette, recorded at MAPS Studios, credited the band as vocalist 'K. Nabber', guitarist 'L. Trebor', bassist 'S. Dnalre' and drummer 'L. Apmob'. The 'Dream II' 7" single, crafted at Gorysound Studios, followed for Obscure Plasma Records in 1991, the band now billed as vocalist Derelict, guitarist Mourning, bassist and keyboard player Day DiSyraah and drummer Winter. This session saw a 1995 CD re-release through Avantgarde Music adding a fifth track 'IV'.

French label Osmose Productions published the full length 'Dawn Of Dreams' in 1992, this outing comprising seven untitled tracks. 'Khaooohs', recorded at Unisound Studios and now with the inclusion of female vocalist Aasah on the track 'Utsikt', followed in 1993.

During 1997 guitarist Mourning (a.k.a. Robban Ivarsson) left to join ASHES, appearing on their debut 'Death Has Made It's Call' album the same year. Ironically, Robert Karlsson later became a permanent frontman for EDGE OF SANITY for their 'Cryptic' album, ousting Swanö.

Dan Swanö contributed guest lead vocal tracks to a cover version of MOXY's 'Out Of The Darkness' for inclusion on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.
