A melodic Heavy Metal band, PREY was formulated by childhood friends vocalist / guitarist Thomas Nystroem and bassist Peter Baecke. The duo's first act would be school outfit FOURTEEN CANDLES, this unit evolving into the hard gigging DREAMDOC. PREy was manifested when Nystroem and Baecke hooked up with the latter exited from SOULBURN and pulled together a new force with drummer Patrick Johansson of WITHOUT GRIEF, STORMWIND and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN repute alongside keyboard player Fredrik Plahn from covers band D-CLUB. PREY would have their activities curtailed somewhat when drummer Patrick Johansson's commitments to YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's took priority. With Johansson's return, PREY signed to the Belgian Mausoleum label in early 2004, cutting a debut album, 'The Hunter', with producer Anders Theander at Roastinghouse Studios. Famously, PREY had signed their contracts in real elk's blood although the band admitted not to having slain the beast but simply bought the blood from a local butcher.

The band entered the recording studio on April 9th 2007 to lay down tracks for new album 'Judgment Night'.
