A Black Thrash Metal act originally billed as REBEL ANGELS then ELIZIUM before settling on DEVIAN. Century Media Records issued the DEVIAN debut album 'Ninewinged Serpent' in October 2007. The band had been assembled by an assemblage of Swedish Death Metal talent involving MARDUK vocalist Legion, guitarists Joinus, of INCINERATOR, NOMINON and SARGATANAS REIGN, and the REIGN, PLAGUE MAJESTIC, DEADPULSE and SARGATANAS REIGN credited Marcus Lundberg, SUICIDAL SEDUCTION bass player Tomas Nilsson plus Emil Dragutinovic on drums. The latters credits included NOMINON, THE LEGION and MARDUK. Japanese versions of 'Ninewinged Serpent' added two extra tracks, 'Burning Daylight' and Jackal.

Membership changes saw Tomas Nilsson switching to guitar, DIABOLICAL's Carl Stjärnlöv taking over on bass.

In 2008 DEVIAN covered MORGOTH's 'Isolated' for inclusion on the Century Media artist compilation 'Covering 20 Years Of Extremes'. This double CD set comprised Century Media acts paying home to their stable mates. Second album 'God To The Illfated' emerged in January 2009.
