DEMONS OF DIRT previously operated under the title of ENGRAVED upon their formation in late 1999. With the induction of a new rhythm axis of bassist Pontus Jonsson and drummer Magnus Olsson the band evolved into DEMONS OF DIRT. Two demos rapidly ensued which, when compiled into an EP in CD format, secured a placing on a compilation album 'Voices Of Death III' and offers for a full length album from both Downfall and Hammerheart Records.

Choosing the latter DEMONS OF DIRT issued their debut EP 'Demonblues' followed by the full length 'Killer Engine' in early 2002. Bass player Pontus Jonsson quit the band in November.
