Biography

DEACON STREET was the tag given by TOMMY DENANDER and Chris Demming of AOR and SPIN GALLERY to issue a collection of tracks written for other artists but surplus to requirements. Denander has a wealth of credits on the Scandinavian Rock scene including A.T.C., EARTHQUAKE, MORPHEUS, UNANIMATED, RAINMAKER, RADIOACTIVE, SPEEDY GONZALES and PRISONER.

The guest roll call on the eponymous March 2004 album, released through AOR Heaven, included Jan Johansen of IGNITION, Jamie Meyer, session guitarist BRUCE GAITSCH, Marcel Jacob of TALISMAN and the YNGWIE MALMSTEEN band, keyboard player Marcus Liliequist, Magnus Weinemo from SPIN GALLERY, Lars Chriss of LION's SHARE, guitarist JEFF NORTHRUP and SAYIT.

DEACON STREET returned in 2006, German imprint MTM Music issuing 'Deacon Street II' in May. Once again an impressive cast was mustered with singers featured as Peter Sundell of GRAND ILLUSION on 'Beautiful Chardaine', Thomas Vikström of CANDLEMASS on 'LeAnn', '(Kill Us) On Another Day' and 'Action', Johan Fahlberg from SCUDIERO on 'When Love Is On The Line', Andreas Novak of MIND'S EYE on 'Save Me', 'Second Comings' and 'Misery', Chris Antblad of SPIN GALLERY on 'I Give This Promise' and 'The Promise Of Forever', STAN BUSH on 'Now We Cry For You', Geir Rönning of RADIOACTIVE and PRISONER on 'Easy As It Seems' and TOMMY DENANDER vocalising on 'Them Changes'. On the musical front, 'Deacon Street II' boasted contributions from guitarists STEVE MORSE of DEEP PURPLE, REB BEACH of WINGER, JEFF WATSON of NIGHT RANGER, ex-MEGADETH man MARTY FRIEDMAN, BRUCE GAITSCH and bassist TONY FRANKLIN from THE FIRM and BLUE MURDER.

Tommy Denander contributed session guitar on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.

Thomas Vikström joined THERION in May 2009.
