DAWN OF OBLIVION was formed in 1992 by vocalist / guitarist Victor Fradera and guitarist / keyboard player Per Broberg. Subsequent to a brace of demos utilising a drum machine the roll call was boosted with the incorporation of bassist Jesper Rydberg and drummer Andreas Båge. Two further demo recordings preceded the opening 1994 album 'A Fervent Prayer'. Despite this solid progress DAWN OF OBLIVION promptly folded.

Sometime after Fradera and Båge reconstituted the band by bringing onboard American guitarist Jimmy Lee Lou and bass player Jonas Nilsson, re-debuting with the 1997 'Yorick' album. Shortly before release of 'The Haunted' EP Jimmy Lee Lou opted out and Stefan Rosqvist took charge of guitars.

'Mephisto's Appealing' was delivered in July 2001 through M&A MusicArt. Peter Wildoer of DARKANE would be employed as a session drummer during 2002. As a solo artist Rosqvist also contributed a track to 'The Alchemist' guitar compilation. Fradera also operates TENEBRE.
