Borås based Thrash Metal band created in 1995 by erstwhile CRYSTAL EYES musicians guitarist Niclas Karlsson, bassist Mikael Blohm and drummer Martin Tilander. Band members all went on to further, higher profile, projects. Signing to ABS Records the group released 'The Requiem Of A Mourner', recorded at Studio Mega in Gothenburg, Sweden and Mohrmann Studio, Germany, as their debut in 1998, this album seeing Jose Sanchez on the lead vocal role. Crazy Life Music issued the album in Germany.

The group truncated their title to simply CONVICTION for the 1999 album 'Decline / Rebirth'. During recording of this opus Daniel Heiman (a.k.a. 'Etherial Mangnanimus') of HIGHLANDER and LOST HORIZON was recruited as the band's new singer, but did not feature on the record itself. Johan Westmar was drafted as new frontman in 2000 before the band collapsed.

FIERCE CONVICTION's guitarist Niclas Karlsson and drummer Martin Tilander subsequently joined FRETERNIA. Niclas Karlsson would also figure in ZONATA. Second guitarist Fredrik Jordanius, who also assisted FRETERNIA on the live front, became a member of RISING FAITH whilst bassist Freddy Zielinsky, having superseded Lars Rapp, went on to IRONWARE.

In 2005 Fredrik Jordanius, claiming he had "had enough of tight leather jeans, double bass drums and high pitched falsetto screams", also launched the straight ahead Rock act EGONAUT.

Jose Sanchez landed a solo deal with British label Z Records in December 2006. Jordanius joined LAKE OF TEARS in 2009.
