Biography

A Gothic Metal act emanating from the town of Borås near Gothenburg. BESEECH, including former CEMETARY drummer Morgan Gredaker, was founded during November of 1992, debuting two years later with a track 'Edge Of Life' on the Belgian Shiver label's series of compilations 'Sometimes Death Is Better'.

A succession of demos, commencing with December 1992's 'A Lesser Kind Of Evil' and the follow up 'Last Chapter' led to the band's third effort 'Tears' in 1995 securing the attention of We Bite Records. With contracts signed BESEECH entered the studio to lay down the debut album '...From A Bleeding Heart' with Christian Silver of SUNDOWN acting as producer. Female session vocals came courtesy of Anna Andersen. However, with the completion of the album the band learned that their label was in no position to fund its release. Finally in April 1998 Metal Blade Records issued the record. The album received noteworthy reviews, BESEECH's symphonic Gothic and 18th century stage apparel setting the band apart from the current crop of Scandinavian acts.

The band would then fracture with the rhythm section of bass player Andreas Wiik and drummer Morgan Gredaker going their separate way. Nicke Svensson was introduced on keyboards alongside keyboard player Micke Andersson but BESEECH splintered yet again. Vocalist Jörgen Sjöberg, guitarists Klas Bohlin and Robert Spånglund and keyboard player Mikael Back retaining the band name. The new look BESEECH shortly after inducted bass player Daniel Elofsson and drummer Jonas Strömberg.

The group also parted company with Metal Blade, signing a fresh deal with the Pavement label. BESEECH's second album 'Black Emotions' found the band, striving for a modern Gothic sound, broadening their creative scope with experimentation with new instrumental textures. The flamboyant costumes had also been consigned to the past, BESEECH now adopting the simple yet effective 'black' look. Three album tracks, 'Manmade Dreams', 'Neon Ocean' and 'Lunar Eclipse', would all feature as part of the soundtrack to the Canadian Horror movie 'Alien Agenda 5 - Alien Conspiracy'. Touring found BESEECH as opening act on a full scale European tour headed up by LACUNA COIL and THEATRE OF TRAGEDY in early 2001.

With the live work in promotion of 'Black Emotions' completed BESEECH lost the services of vocalist Jörgen Sjöberg. He was replaced by Erik Molarin.

BESEECH signed to the Austrian Napalm label for the 2002 album 'Souls Highway'. Limited editions of the record included an exclusive bonus track, a cover version of ABBA's 'Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie'. Tour plans for October 2002 had BESEECH billed alongside DARKWELL and ASHES YOU LEAVE for European dates. The band parted ways with longstanding guitarist Klas Bohlin in January of 2003.

Guitarist Robert Spånglund was also operational with the Stoner band FEAR OF LIGHT whilst former BESEECH drummer Morgan Gredåker launched his new act THE PROJECT EVERSOUND during 2003.

The band returned in January 2004 with the 'Drama' album issued through Napalm Records. In the Summer BESEECH drafted the CEMETARY, SUNDOWN and FATAL EMBRACE credited Manne Engström as their new guitarist. The new look band entered the StudioMega in Bollebygd recording complex in October to craft a new album billed 'Sunless Days', this set including a cover of the DANZIG track 'Devil's Plaything'. Digipack versions added a newly recorded version of 'Manmade Dreams' and an "emotional & shorter" take of 'Lost'. Meantime, 'Drama' saw a release in South America through Haunted Records in April 2005. 'Sunless Days' came out in September 2005 through Napalm Records.

In mid October 2006 BESEECH issued a statement to the effect "All of us in the band have come to the sad conclusion to put BESEECH to rest for good." In March 2007 it was revealed that Manne Engström and Robert Vintervind had teamed up with tattooed Swedish platinum selling solo artist Sara Löfgren, NIGHTRAGE and CIPHER SYSTEM bassist Henric Carlsson with Christian Silver of SUNDOWN and CEMETARY on drums. This union titled itself TWDSO ("THOSE WE DON'T SPEAK OF").

Announced during early 2009, Robert Vintervind and Manne Engström forged LAVETT, a project comprising a cast of well known Swedish musicians in Daniel Heiman, of LOST HORIZON and HEED, on lead vocals, Michael Niklasson, from DARK TRANQUILLITY, on bass, plus Christian Silver, of SUNDOWN and CEMETARY, on the drums.
