Mid 2004 saw the arrival of ABLAZE, assembled by ex-CONVICTION, FRETERNIA and RISING FAITH guitarist Fredrik Jordanius, former ZONATA drummer Mike Cameron Force, ZONATA vocalist Johannes Nyberg and bassist Lukasz Strach. The band cut a three track demo, simply entitled 'A', in December 2004 at Cameron Dungeon Studios.

In February 2005 the band parted ways with singer Johannes Nyberg, drafting FRETERNIA and IRONWARE man Pasi Humppi to re-record the vocals on the 'A' sessions. The new singer would also ally himself with CROMONIC, a unit featuring former FRETERNIA personnel guitarist Patrik von Porat and bassist Bo Pettersson, DIONYSUS and ex-SINERGY drummer Ronny Milianowicz and rhythm guitarist Tomas Wäppling of FRETERNIA and EARTHCRAWL.

That same year Fredrik Jordanius, claiming he had "had enough of tight leather jeans, double bass drums and high pitched falsetto screams", also launched the straight ahead Rock act EGONAUT. Jordanius joined LAKE OF TEARS in 2009.
