Biography

Ex-SIX FEET UNDER, RAINFALL and READY STEADY vocalist Björn Lodin formed Rättvik / Stockholm's BALTIMOORE in 1988 and success quickly followed; two tracks from the debut 1989 album, 'There's No Danger On The Roof', in the form of 'My Blue Moon' and 'Ballerina' both became hit singles in Sweden. The first album featured ex-SIX FEET UNDER guitarist Tomas Larsson, guitarist Stefan Bergström, keyboard player Mats Olausson and drummer Rolf Alex. Begström, however, later joined SKINTRADE. A second album, 'Freak' issued in 1990, gave BALTIMOORE a hit in Spain with the song 'Dance, Dance'.

Björn Lodin later teamed up with BEDLAM and briefly joined Swiss act KROKUS in 1989. More recently Bulgarian born guitarist NIKOLO KOTZEV released a stream of album projects under the BRAZEN ABBOT handle. The records are notable for featuring ex-DEEP PURPLE vocalist GLENN HUGHES, ex-RAINBOW, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and DEEP PURPLE frontman JOE LYNN TURNER, former MADISON and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Göran Edman and former TALK OF THE TOWN and CANDLEMASS vocalist Thomas Wikström. Lodin has also lent vocals to ASTRAL GROOVE and LARS ERIC MATTSON whilst NIKOLO KOTZEV made a name for himself once more issuing a solo album 'Nostradamus' in 2001 with a mammoth, all star guest roll.

Lodin and BALTIMOORE made a return during 2003 with an album billed 'Ultimate Tribute'. Comprising re-works of classic Rock tracks the record included renditions of BLACK SABBATH's 'Never Say Die', RAINBOW's 'Kill The King', THIN LIZZY's 'The Rocker' and NILS LOFGREN's 'Beggar's Day'. Recording line-up involved Lodin, guitarists Stefan Bergström and Magnus Sedenberg, bassist Weine Johansson with Hempo Hildén on drums.

BALTIMOORE, retaining a stable line-up, returned in 2006 with the album 'Kaleidoscope' released via Björn Lodin's own BLP Music imprint. Björn Lodin contributed guest lead vocal tracks to cover versions of BUDGIE's 'In For The Kill' and NEON ROSE's 'Love Rock' for inclusion on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.

That same month both Thomas Larsson and Weine Johansson left the BALTIMOORE ranks. Brothers guitarist Lars Karlsson and bassist Pelle Karlsson replaced them. However, in April 2007 both Thomas Larsson and Weine Johansson made a return to feature alongside Björn Lodin, guitarist / keyboard player Klas Hägglund, from WATERTOUCH, and drummer Jonas Löö. Subsequently BALTIMOORE inducted Janne Stark on guitar.

The 'Quick Fix' album, the band's eleventh, saw release in May 2009 through BLP Music. Featured on these sessions woud be Lodin's erstwhile BALLS colleagues bassist Björn Lundkvist and drummer Robban Bäck plus guitarist Emanuel Hedberg. BALTIMOORE followed up quickly, recording their next album that same year as a unit comprising Björn Lodin, handling vocals, guitar and bass, guitarist Lars-Åke Löwin, keyboard player Örjan Fernkvist with Robban Bäck on drums.
