Avesta based Death Metal band, founded in 1990. UNCANNY guitarists Mats Forsell and Fredrik Norrman were both former members of FULMINATION. Norrman subsequently joined KATATONIA and OCTOBER TIDE. Drummer Kenneth Englund cites credits with a profusion of acts such as MOONDARK, INTERMENT, PYOSISFIED, DELLAMORTE and CENTINEX.

UNCANNY bowed in with the demo 'Transportation To The Uncanny' in 1991. That June the band shared a split demo with ASOCIAL, ENTRAILS and UNCURBED entitled 'Avesta Mangel'. They followed up with the 'Nyktalgia' session of 1992. The Colombian based Warmaster Records then issued a split album shared with Belgian act ANCIENT RITES. Signing to the Greek Unisound label the band cut the 1994 album 'Splenium For Nyktophobia', this outing being engineered by DAN SWANȪ.
