Biography

Swedish Death Metal band with Progressive leanings founded as school band OBERON in 1988. Originally a trio of vocalist and guitarist Fredrik Degerström, 12 year old drummer Morgan Lie and guitarist Andreas. OBERON cut their first demo 'Follow The Blind' with Degerström handling bass duties.

The band's first guitarist Andreas quit to follow the Punk path and in came Jon Andersson on guitar and former MISHRAK man Johan Westerlund on bass for recording of the 'Insane' demo. The band also pulled in guitarist Nils Norberg but he departed for NOCTURNAL RITES in mid 1996. That same year Degerström united under the pseudonym of 'Spider' with the NOCTURNAL RITES duo of guitarist Frederik 'Psycho' Mannberg and bassist Nils 'Snake' Eriksson to record the 'Under The Guillotine' album as retro-Thrashers GUILLOTINE.

Upon signing to the Black Mark label a nameshift to AUBERON occurred as the band discovered other acts with their previous moniker. Guitarist Magnus Lindblom was added after the release of the February 1998 album 'The Tale Of Black'. The record featured Andreas Stoltz of HOLLOW as session guest.

AUBERON guitarist Pekka 'Power' Kiviaho created PERSUADER for 'The Hunter' album. During 2000 AUBERON underwent a line-up shift pulling in two new guitarists in Jonathan Holmgren and Anders Johansson. AUBERON would issue 'Crossworld' during April 2001, once again seeing HOLLOW's Andreas Stolz as guest musician.

In early 2005 it would be revealed ex-member Pekka Kiviaho had joined ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET, the new project of ex-THE CROWN singer Johan Lindstrand.
