Thrash / Death combo TRIBULATION came together during 2001 under the original branding of HAZARD. The group, hailing from Arkiva in the southwest of Sweden, first featured guitarists Jonathan Hultén, of TRAKTOR, and Adam Zaars, TERROR, CORRUPTED and MASS HYPNOSIS bassist Joseph Tholl with Jonas Wikstrand of LEPROSY on drums. This unit cut the demo 'Aggression Within'. The CORRUPTED and LEPROSY credited Olof Wikstrand took over on bass during 2002. Singer Johannes Andersson came on board the following year.

Switching title to TRIBULATION, the band underwent a radical line-up shift in 2004, as both Olaf and Jonas Wikstrand exited. FERAL's Jimmie Frödin briefly occupied the drum stool, for the demo 'Agony Awaits', before Jakob Johansson enrolled. Re-billed as TRIBULATION, they recorded a further demo, 'The Ascending Dead', in June 2005. That same year Jonatan Hultén forged a new outfit billed GUERILLA.

By 2008 TRIBULATION was billing itself with a line-up comprising Jonka on vocals / bass, guitarists D.D. Sars and Evil Kid Joe with Bob Gentle on drums. Pulverised Records released 'The Horror' in early 2009.
