Biography

CARNAL GRIEF was formulated in Arboga during 1997 by erstwhile POWER PIG members guitarist Johan Lindgren and bassplayer Johan Olsen. The band's debut product would be the 1997 demo tape 'Embraced By The Light, a track from which appeared on the 'From The Underground' from X-treme Records, followed by a further session 'Cradlesongs' a year later. During mid 1999 the band lost the services of guitarist Johan Larsson and Per Magnus Andersson filled the vacancy.

CARNAL GRIEF's 'Wastelands' 1999 demo included a cover version of W.A.S.P.'s 'I Wanna Be Somebody'. CARNAL GRIEF drummer Henrik Brander would also be an active member of Thrash Metal act MAUSOLEUM. CARNAL GRIEF returned in February 2004 with the 'Out Of Crippled Seeds' album through Trinity Records.

During 2005 CARNAL GRIEF announced a revised band formation counting singer Per Jonas Carlsson, guitarists André Alvinzi and Johan Lindgren, bass player Johan Olsen with Aaron Henrik Brander on drums. This unit cut sophomore album 'Nine Shades Of Pain'. CARNAL GRIEF contracted with GMR Music in June 2006 for the release of their second album.

That same year André Alvinzi co-forged COLDWORKER in 2006, an alliance with NECRONY and NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson, RUIN and CHAIN OF HATE guitarist Anders Bertilsson, PHOBOS singer Joel Fornbrandt plus Oskar Pålsson of RELENTLESS as bassist.
