Porto's INTHYFLESH, manifested in 2000, debuted with a 2001 'Black Metal Rehearsal Tape' demo. The band then issued the November 2002 demos 'Ode Nacional' and 'Onslaught Against Slavery', both restricted to 300 copies and both released on the same day. A further demo, 'United By Blood And Sword', would be issued as a split demo in collaboration with Germany's NAVJA. INTHYFLESH's line-up would be quoted as singer Satære, a veteran of UNFLESHED and DESPONDENT, guitarists Inferi Dii and Adon Chrysaor, bassist Arawn with former UNFLESHED man Njiord on drums. However, Adon Chrysaor departed to join FLAGELLUM DEI, GREYSCALES then LUX FERRE.

The Australian GoatowaRex label put out the August 2004 album 'Crawl Beneath Our Shadow'. Sessioning on bass guitar would be Nocturnus Horrendus, scene veteran of CORPUS CHRISTII, GENOCIDE KOMMANDO, MORTE INCANDESCENTE, STORM LEGION and COLDNESS. In Brazil the album was distributed in limited edition cassette format through Alastor Rex Productions. In December of 2004 Wyvern enrolled on bass. Recordings in March of 2005 saw the band entering the studio to lay down two new tracks, 'Arrested By Grief' for use on the compilation album 'Lusitania Dark Horde II' and 'Devoted To Misfortune' for a proposed split 7" single shared with KULT OV AZAZEL.

The 2005 version of INTHYFLESH saw Satære joined by the guitar team of Tarannis, of ACCEPTUS NOCTIFER, EXUL and DESPONDENT repute, and Desecrator, VAPULAH and URZE bassist Sephirus and drummer Alastor R., the latter holding credits with GOLDENPYRE, TENEBRAE and DECREPIDEMIC. The band signed to Drakkar Productions for further product.
