Biography

Zielona Góra based Symphonic Black Metal group PROFANUM, originally comprising Geryon, Vlad Ysengrimm and the MORTUARY and SUPREME LORD credited Alocer (a.k.a. Reyash) on drums, date back to 1993 releasing the demo 'Under The Black Wings Of Emperor' the following year. This tape secured a deal with Polish label Astral Wings for the debut album 'Flowers of Our Black Misanthropy'. PROFANUM also contributed a track to the Cyclonic Records compilation album 'Under The Pagan Moon'.

The band, trimming down to a duo of Geryon and Vlad Ysengrimm, signed to the Polish label Pagan Records in 1997, releasing their second full length 'Profanum Aeternum: Eminence Of Satanic Imperial Art'. This outing found PROFANUM pursuing a more majestic style than previous. Progress would be marred though when after the release, Geryon was jailed. Subsequently band members busued themselves with SUPREME LORD and WITCHMASTER.

The third PROFANUM effort 'Musaeum Esotericum', comprising of just two lengthy orchestral workouts, was delivered in 2000. The 2002 compilation, 'Misantropiae Floris', gathered together archive tracks from their first album and an unreleased track from 2001.
