VESANIA came into being as a trio of vocalist / guitarist Orion of BEHEMOTH, bassist Heinrich and VADER drummer Daray during late 1997. Adding second guitarist Annahvahr and keyboard player Hatrah the band laid down demos in 1999. Siegmar would take on keyboard responsibilities in 2000 as archive recordings from 1998 were released by Odium as a split album 'Moonstray' allied with BLACK ALTAR.

Drummer Daray would session for VADER in early 2004 after their regular drummer injured himself in the recording studio. VESANIA signed to the Austrian Napalm label in May 2005 for a three album deal commencing with the 'God The Lux' opus, laid down at Hendrix studio in Lublin and at Kokszoman studio in Warsaw. Siegmar conducted instrumental intro pieces for VADER's 2005 EP ''The Art Of War'. The band expanded with the addition of guitarist Valeo, of SAMMATH NAUR and MORTIS DEI, in August. The group announced European tour dates for January 2006, traversing Poland, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and the UK, alongside a heavyweight cast of GRAVE, ABORTED, DEW-SCENTED, HURTLOCKER and CRYPTOPSY.

The band undertook the 'Empire Invasion' March 2006 tour of Poland allied with HERMH, THE CHAINSAW and DIES IRAE. Scandinavian gigs would be announced for August in collaboration with CRYPTOPSY and ABORTED. In December Daray announced the formation of side project MASACHIST, co-formed by Thrufel, guitarist from AZARATH and YATTERING.
