Biography

ZEROMANCER, forged during 1999, is a Norwegian Industrial rock band formed by members of the highly influential act SEIGMEN. When this antecedent group disbanded in March 1999, bass guitarist Kim Ljung and progammer Erik Ljunggren journeyed to Los Angeles to forge a fresh act, being soon joined by two further erstwhile SEIGMEN personnel, singer Alex Møklebust and drummer Noralf Ronthi. Guitar work on two initial demos was contributed by James Saes. The unit then evolved to incorporate ex-PRICK and KIDNEYTHIEVES guitarist Chris Schleyer.

ZEROMANCER released their first album 'Clone Your Lover' on 13th March 2001, with the lead track scoring hit status on the club scene. The album also won an award for the "Best newcomer of 2000" at the German Alternative Music Awards. Second opus 'Eurotrash' arrived in 2001, this set hosting a cover version of the song 'Send Me An angel', originally a 1983 hit by Australian band REAL LIFE.

The debut album was given a 2003 re-release for the US market and was duly promoted by a tour of North America in alliance with THE THRILL KILL KULT and PIGFACE. That year tracks were also recorded for a third album, the toned down 'Zzyzx', named after the San Bernardino County, California, town of Zzyzx Springs. By this stage the group had introduced new keyboard player Lorry Kristiansen. Chris Schleyer then left the band to join A PERFECT CIRCLE and subsequently toured with NINE INCH NAILS forged AFFECTED.ZEROMANCER persevered by drafting guitarist Dan Heide.

ZEROMANCER went on a temporary hiatus for three years, during which time Kim Ljung created the solo project LJUNGBLUT. Alex Møklebust produced Norwegian band DON JUAN DRACULA and Erik Ljunggren lent his programming skills UNDERGOD and SATYRICON. Also on the agenda was a SEIGMEN reunion, resulting in a live concert DVD.

The group was reconstituted for touring in the autumn of 2006 and a single 'Doppelgänger I Love You', another German club hit. The album 'Sinners International' saw release on 13th February 2009, promoted by a second single, 'I'm Yours To Lose', and a German club tour.
