MANIFEST is a Trondheim based, Thrash edged Metal band conceived in late 1999 by guitarist Ole Marius Larmerud and drummer Alessandro Elide, the latter active on the scene with a BLACK SABBATH tribute band rather obviously called BLACK SABBATH TRIBUTE BAND. After various formative line-ups the band was completed by vocalist Erik Wegge in May 2000 and bassist Cato Iversen that August.

This quartet cut the opening demo 'Structure Of Disharmony'. The track 'Recreate' on this demo was recorded earlier in May 2000 with Espen Hammer on bass. The group's next move was to cut a self financed EP 'Lifelong, Painful Co-existence' with producer Rune Elli in April 2001. In December of that same year MANIFEST laid down another four demo tracks at Skansen Studios in Trondheim.

In April 2002, Stian Leknes joined the band on vocals. The new look MANIFEST heralded Leknes' arrival with a show in August at the 'Tauterstokk' festival. With Elide unable to perform at this gig due to an arm injury Tor Arne from ATROX stood in. 2003 witnessed a short Norwegian tour sharing stages with GODSIZE, after which MANIFEST entered the Godt Selskap Studios for the promo session 'The Art Of War'. The band would use Godt Selskap Studios again in the spring of 2004 to record their first album, titled 'Half Past Violence' for Edgerunner Records.

On the session front, Stian Leknes contributed guest growls to Progressive Rock act PICTORIAL WAND's debut album 'A Sleeper's Awakening'. In January 2006 drummer Alessandro Elide joined the ranks of GRIFFIN. MANIFEST parted ways with bassist Cato Iversen shortly afterward, pulling in new man Kenneth Einarsen. The band supported ENTOMBED on their Norwegian shows in September.

MANIFEST utilised Spiren Studio in Støren with producer Knut 'Fug' Prytz on November 2nd to cut new album tracks. 'Hedonism' came out in Norway on 3rd December 2007

The group united with JORN LANDE, CRIMES OF PASSION, DET EVIG ORK and PUNCH for the 'Sunnfjord Rock' tour of Norway in September 2008.

MANIFEST, having announced the addition of bassist Johnny Wangberg, of GRIFFIN and WÅTTAMEZZ, to the group's ranks recorded fresh tracks in July 2009.
