Biography
Stavanger / Kleppe 'Hybrid Metal' band established by guitarists Kenneth Soares Varhaug and Tom A. Furenes during late 2000. Despite their prediliction for adorning their faces with large black stripes LOWDOWN is not a Black Metal band. Singer Leo Moracchioli and bassist bassist Pål Jakobsen was pulled in to record a first set of demos at Mansion Studios, after which Stefan Køningsberg was enrolled on drums. LOWDOWN shifted shape, hiring another vocalist for second demos entitled 'Mostly Down'. However, this individual was replaced by his predecessor for the finished product. The now stablised band then scored first place in the Stavanger 'Zoom 2001' band competition, these shows scoring a contract with Black Balloon Records.
Zet (Henning Ramseth) of RAM-ZET produced the 'Unknown' debut, adding his distinctive voice to the close out track 'Struggling'. Bass player Pål Jakobsen exited in December 2004, being superseded by Erik Torp.
Working with Henning Ramseth behind the desk again, LOWDOWN entered Space Valley Studios in February 2006 to cut the 'Antidote' album for August issue.
