Biography

Oslo's PANTHEON I features vocalist / guitarist Andrè Kvebek of 1349, guitarist John Espen Sagstad from ABIOTIC and SARKOM member drummer Eirik Renton. PANTHEON I cut a 2003 demo, simply entitled 'Demo MMIII' for which RAM-ZET's Sareeta contributed violin. The band's bassist, Anders Grindland, was let go upon completion of these recordings.

PANTHEON laid down sessions for an 7" vinyl EP release in April of 2004, after which they would augment their line-up with the incorporation of Gunhild Mathea Olaussen on violin and Julianne Kostøl on the cello. The band also recruited a session bassist, 1349's Tor Risdal Stavenes (a.k.a. Seidemann).

Signing to World Chaos Productions PANTHEON I cut the 'Atrocity Divine' at Strype Audio Studios in 2005. The band parted ways with drummer Eirik Renton, drafting as replacement Dan Theobald from UK bands TWISTED AUTUMN DARKNESS, 13 CANDLES, SLAUGHTER OF SOULS and SUCH BEAUTYFUL SIN.

During May 2006 PANTHEON I demoed up new tracks 'Where Angels Burn', 'Core of the Soul' and 'Decent into Darkness' plus a cover version of EMPEROR's 'Thus Spake The Nightspirit'. Signing to Candlelight Records the band issued the album 'The Wanderer And His Shadow', produced by Christian Wibe at Nye Losjen Studios, in April 2007. The track 'Coming To An End" featured a guest appearance by SOLEFALD vocalist Lazare Nedland, whilst Nachtgarm from NEGATOR appeared on 'Chaos Incarnate' and former PANTHEON I member Gunhild Mathea Olaussen contributed her violin skills on 'Where Angels Burn'.

In April 2007 the band formed up with the MARDUK headlined 'Excess Of Evil' European tour backed up by ENSLAVED, KEEP OF KALESSIN, MELECHESH and GOATWHORE. In 2008 the group spent time at Strand Studio recording a brand new song called 'I'll Come Back As Fire', featured on the soundtrack to horror movie 'Someone's Knocking At The Door'.

PANTHEON I supported KEEP OF KALESSIN for Finnish dates in January 2009, after which the band entered the studio to record the album 'World I Create'. Drummer Dan Theobald took his leave that month to be replaced by Mads Guldbekkhei of THE ALLSEEING I.

A download single, 'Serpent Christ', was released on 29th June. In July KATATONIA vocalist Jonas Renkse contributed guest vocals to a track on 'Worlds I Create', PANTHEON I's third full-length album.
