Biography

Oslo's CARNIVORA is a majestically Heavy Metal band mentored by former STREET LEGAL, RAIN and JORN LANDE guitarist Tore Morén. The six-stringer has also sessioned for both SINERGY and EXTOL. Exiting Lande's band in 1999, Morén duly assembled this new band unit, impressively enlisting no less a figure than the MAYHEM, IMMORTAL, EMPEROR, THE KOVENANT, ULVER and ARCTURUS credited renowned drummer Hellhammer (a.k.a. Jan Axel Blomberg). Enrolling bassist Bjarne Torud the newly constituted trio cut a series of demos, subsequently drafting CIRCUS MAXIMUS singer Michael Eriksen. In this formation CARNIVORA cut the debut 'Judas' album at Børge Finstad's Top Room studios. Guesting would be the high profile Ronnie Le Tekrø of TNT fame, donating a guitar solo to the track 'Soaring On', and Nils K. Rue of PAGAN'S MIND on 'State Of Fear And Hate'.

Upon completion, 'Judas' was snapped by Facefront Records. Unfortunately Hellhammer's commitments in promoting MAYHEM's 'Chimera' release put him out of the frame for future participation. Truls Andreas Haugen, of CIRCUS MAXIMUS and BLACK COMEDY, stepped in as the group's new drummer whilst CARNIVORA then expanded further with the incorporation of second guitarist Rune Torgersen.

Morén and Torud, in association with erstwhile STREET LEGAL drummer Bjørn Olav Bol Ladval, PAGAN'S MIND's singer Nils K. Rue and CIRCUS MAXIMUS keyboard player Espen Storø also operate the OZZY OSBOURNE tribute band OZZMOSIS.

CARNIVORA lost the services of singer Michael Eriksen in November of 2004. Tore Morén would work with JORN LANDE once again, sessioning on his album 'The Duke'. 2005 found the six-stringer aiding ARCTURUS for live work.

CARNIVORA's second album 'Re-Incarnal', featuring new singer Eirik Barsleth, was set for September 2006 release. Both Tore Morén and Eirik Barsleth featured on the LUCID MOON album 'Last Conversation Of The Severed Heads'.
