Biography

Solo Black Metal venture. Nattefrost (a.k.a. Roger Rasmussen) also fronts CARPATHIAN FOREST and operates the HATEPULSE project. The 2003 album 'Blood And Vomit' includes a cover version of BEHERIT's 'The Gate Of Nanna'. Sessioneers for these recordings saw vocalists Nordavind and his WORLD DESTROYER and HATEPULSE comrade Kulde all participating.

Nattefrost would also front up BLOODLINE, a union of DIABOLICUM's Sasrof on guitars, keyboards and programming, the ABORYM duo of Set on second guitar and Nysrok Infernalien on keyboards and programming with Nigris on bass. In 2004 the band would have their classic cut 'Sluts Of Hell' chosen as a pioneering piece of music for a compilation assembled by DARKTHRONE drummer Fenriz, released through Peaceville Records and entitled 'Fenriz Presents The Best Of Old School Black Metal'.

Promoting the 'Terrorist' album September 2005 shows in Europe and Scandinavia had the band forming up a package comprising ARCTURUS, CONFESSOR, RED HARVEST and TSJUDER.

Nattefrost commenced work on a third solo album 'Opfergang' in May 2009, this set featuring guest appearances from Dirge Rep, of ORCUSTUS and SECHT, and Vrangsinn, from CARPATHIAN FOREST, SECHT and A WASTE OF TALENT. Nattefrost also featured on the song 'Fossegrim' for the an EP released by Norway's KVELERTAK. He also collaborated with fellow Black Metal icon Fenriz of DARKTHRONE on a split album released in early June on Indie Recordings. The album, produced by Vrangsinn and Rabbagast entitled 'Engangsgrill', contains three tracks of Stoner Rock from FENRIZ' RED PLANET and five tracks of previously unreleased, or rare and difficult to find material, from NATTEFROST.
