Biography

Kristiansand Thrashers NEON GOD were formulated during 2000 by drummer Sven Rothe and CHAIN COLLECTOR guitarist Kjell Jacobsen, aiming to assemble a band in order to play "some real heavy shit". In 2001 the pair would be joined by Tom Aksel Hansen from OPUS FORGOTTEN on bass and subsequently second guitarist Gøran Boman from PANTACULUM, OPUS FORGOTTEN, APOSTASY and CARPATHIAN FOREST.

Still minus a vocalist despite numerous auditions for the post, the group was booked to appear at the 'Southern Discomfort' festival in Kristiansand during 2003. For this gig the band pulled in the high profile guest casting of Vibeke Stene from TRISTANIA and and Kjetil Nordhus of TRAIL OF TEARS, GREEN CARNATION and CHAIN COLLECTOR. Shortly afterward NEON GOD secured Svein Reinton as their new frontman.
