A 2005 side project initiated by OLD MAN'S CHILD guitarist Jardar (a.k.a. Jon Øyvind Andersen) in "Dark Death Metal" band INSIDIOUS DISEASE, saw the guitarist in collusion with guitarist Silenoz (Sven Atle Kopperud) and drummer Tony Laureano of DIMMU BORGIR, the latter also holding NILE and ANGEL CORPSE credentials. In September the trio was joined by another high profile musician, NAPALM DEATH bassist Shane Embury. Tony Laureano temporarily joined up with Metalcore band THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER for dates in Japan and South Korea.

Working with producer Terje Andersen (a.k.a. Cyrus) of SUSPERIA, the band cut debut album tracks in Norway branded 'Shadowcast' in early 2009. These sessions were mixed by Russ Russell during May. NECROPHAGIA frontman Frank "Killjoy" Pucci had co-written and contributed guest vocals to the song 'Rituals Of Bloodshed'.

INSIDIOUS DISEASE made its official live debut on 30th July at the Magnet club in Berlin, Germany upfront of an appearance at the 'Wacken Open Air' festival in August.
