Biography

CREST OF DARKNESS was founded during 1993 in Gjøvik by former CONCEPTION bassist Ingar Almein. The band bowed in with the 'Quench My Thirst' EP as a trio featuring Almein on bass and guitar, keyboard player Lars Christian Narum and drummer Nils H. Maehlum. This line-up was retained for the full length album 'Sinsister Scenarios'.

1999's 'The Ogress' saw a shift to Listenable Records and a new look band with Almein pulling in PALE FOREST vocalist Kristin Fjellseth, his former CONCEPTION, and subsequently KAMELOT, vocalist Roy Khan, keyboards from both Narum and Jan Petter Rinvold with drums from former CONCEPTION man Arne Heimdal.

The 2000 album 'Project Regeneration' sees contributions from Kristin Fjellseth on vocals, guitarist Akke, drummer Frekkøs with Ringvold retained on keyboards and arrangements from French Industrial act MELEK-THA.

CREST OF DARKNESS put in their inaugural live shows during November 2000. The band's fourth album 'Evil Knows Evil', recorded at MLP Studios in Gjøvik with co-producer/engineer Nils H. Mhlum, was delivered in February 2004 through Italy's My Kingdom Music. Promotion included a video clip filmed for the track 'Inexplicable Bloodthirstiness'. The band boosted their numbers in March with the addition of second guitarist Kjell Arne Hubred. The band also employed ENTHRAL and SJODOGG man Kjetil Hektoen on drums.

CREST OF DARKNESS guitarist 'A.E. Rattlehead' joined NOCTURNAL BREED in September 2005. Kjetil Hektoen joined THE LEGION as lead vocalist in December. March 2006 found CREST OF DARKNESS working up tracks for a new album 'Give Us The Power To Do Your Evil'. The band entered Outer Sound Studios in Rome during December with producer Giuseppe Orlando to cut the album for My Kingdom Music. CREST OF DARKNESS announced that it has parted ways with guitarist Akke due to "personal reasons" and replaced him with Rebo.
