THE FLESH was an exceptionally brutal Death Metal band formed in 1993 in Drammen, near Oslo. The quartet features two ex-members of FUNERAL, bassist Einar Fredriksen and drummer Anders Eek, and was originally conceived as a side project from the duo's mothership. Prior to debuting with the 'Storming The Heaven's Gate' EP for the Arctic Serenades label THE FLESH had received some rave reviews for their 1994 'Ice Cold Macabre Lust' demo.

THE FLESH guitarist Espen Simonsen would work with Sunndalsøra Black Metal act ENTHRAL. Frontman Einar Fredriksen, also holding an earlier association with MYSTICUM, would join PARADIGMA in 1997. Fredriksen committed suicide on 10th January 2003.

Anders Eek joined Torbjørn Sandvik's GLITTERTIND project in February 2006.
