Bergen's DET HEDENSKE FOLK ("The Heathen Folk") is mentored by Tyr, notably not the same individual associated with EMPEROR. The project bowed in with 1995 demos billed 'True Northern', followed up by the 1996 EP 'Northland Rules Supreme'. The 1997 single, 'United By Heathen Blood' for Bloodless Creations, a split 7" convened together with Australian act ABYSSIC HATE, is made up of demo recordings by DET HEDENSKE FOLK. The band features both former OLD FUNERAL, SATANEL, GORGOROTH and IMMORTAL man Abbath and drummer Kvitrafn (Einar Selvik) of GORGOROTH, SIGFADER and BAK DE SYV FJELL on session drums. IMMORTAL's Demonaz contributed guitar to earlier works. Kvitrafn joined DEAD TO THIS WORLD in March 2007.
