AURVANDIR, who dub themselves 'Viking Saga Metal', was an early port of call for latter day 122 STAB WOUNDS and FORLORN bassist Alvarin. The band was founded in 1995 by Hravn and drummer Naltav as LOTHLORIEN. By 1996 AURVANDIR had been joined by vocalist Hati and bassist Alvarin. MAJESTIC men Stelferd and Taakeheimen on loan for their debut gig. The group would then enroll former AMIDST THE LEAFS and A WINTER WITHIN guitar player Lord Incubbuz as the group name changed again to EIDOLON.

A name change to AURVANDIR in 1997 saw the addition of MAJESTIC and MYRIADS bassist Telal and vocalist Silve Kristiansen. However, Telal's stay was short and he left to concentrate on his other acts.
