BATTLE, originally branded MALFEITOR, issued the demo 'End Of Life' in 1993 before evolving into STRID. Askim Black Metal band MALFEITOR's 1992 five song demo was apparently restricted to just 10 official copies. Second set 'Pandemonium' followed that same year. After the two demos were issued a name change to BATTLE took place, resulting in the 1993 demo 'End Of Life'. Frontman Rot took on the fresh pseudonym of Storm whilst drummer Lost (a.k.a. Jon Øyvind Andersen) became Jardar. Ravn Harjar (Edvard Rødseth) supplied guitar. They would then switch again, to STRID (translation of 'Battle'), to re-issue the 'End Of Life' sessions under this revised branding. Malicious Records released a 7" vinyl EP entitled 'Strid' in 1995.

Vocalist / bassist Storm apparently commited suicide in 2000. The 'Strid' EP was subsequently given an unauthorised re-release on CD format, adding 'End Of Life', by the Ars Mysteriorum label. Greek label Kyrck Productions announced future re-issue of archive STRID tracks.
